Promoting Fire Safety with Kindergartners

Kindergartners from Chestnut Street School learned valuable safety tips from local firefighters during the school’s annual fire prevention program on Friday Oct. 7.

Dressed in their gear, the firefighters educated the young children about their duties, including how to put out fires, how to safely escape during a fire, and how to stop, drop and roll. Following the assembly, the students explored the fire truck’s interior and inspected the fire equipment.

Sporting their new plastic firefighter helmets, the kindergartners left the assembly well informed about fire safety and thanked the firefighters for sharing this important information with them.
