West Hempstead Middle School students recently displayed their talent in a production of “The Wizard of Oz.”

Forty students acted in the adaptation of the classic story. In addition, a number of middle school students helped to produce and direct the play, with 10 students also serving on the stage crew.

Audiences were delighted with the student production. The classic tale was directed by Suzanne Parker-Hall, an English teacher at West Hempstead Middle School. Dan DiPasquale, an orchestra teacher at the middle and high schools, served as the stage director. West Hempstead alumnus Stephanie Martinez took on the role as the assistant director, while fellow alum Tina Tudisco choreographed the show.  Eight West Hempstead High School students also served as assistants in direction, stage management and stage crew.

The district would like to congratulate the faculty and students on a successful production!
