Curriculum Information
 

 

District Curriculum Projects:  Teachers and administrators worked collaboratively in creating curriculum documents that have been closely aligned with the New York State standards.
 
Strategic Planning Council: Students, parents, community members, teachers, administrators, and board members met and
developed action plans which set goals for the district in four areas: Community Relations, Curriculum and Data Assessment,
Educational Technology, and Professional Development.  The committee continues to meet once each semester to assess progress
 towards goals set by the council.
 
Character Education Plan:  West Hempstead educators, parents and community members developed a district wide plan.  The
district is committed to supporting the social-emotional learning of all students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
Academic Presentations:  The Board of Education is committed to sharing information with the community regarding all aspects
of the instructional program.  These presentations have been shared at previous Board meetings.
