Grading Policy

Final Grade is determined as follows:
Full Year Course - Each of the 4 quarters will count 20%, Midterm will count 5% and Final Exam will count 15%
Semester Course - Each of the 2 quarters will count 40%, Final Exam will count 20%
If there is no final exam then each quarter will count 50%

Un-weighted Average is determined as follows:
Straight total of all grades divided by the number of credits taken (PE, Driver Education, courses with letter grades and remedial courses are not included in computing the un-weighted average.)

Weighted Average is determined as follows:
Honors and college level courses carry a 7% weight. AP courses carry a 12% weight. (PE and Driver Education are not included and all other courses are not weighted.)

Class Rank is determined after six semesters based on the weighted average. (No re-ranking is done after the sixth semester.) Individual ranks will not be indicated on the transcript or reported to colleges. If requested, the school will indicate the percentile standing of the student. The following increments will be reported: 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30% and then in increments of 10 = 40%, 50%, etc. Selection of Valedictorian and Salutatorian will be decided by the two highest weighted GPA.
