Students in the Athletes Helping Athletes leadership program from West
Hempstead High School visited fifth graders at George Washington School
to speak to them about sportsmanship on Feb. 7.
Designed to have its members act as role models, Athletes Helping
Athletes is a part of the Student Athlete Leadership Team at West
Hempstead High School. Members work together with college athletes at
Molloy College to create and deliver motivational messages to younger
students about drug and alcohol abuse prevention, sportsmanship and
citizenship. Members of Athletes Helping Athletes are in grades 11 and
12 and were nominated by their coaches.
