On Feb. 11, students at George Washington School in West Hempstead demonstrated the true spirit of giving by participating in Town Councilman Thomas Muscarella’s Valentine’s for Veterans program.

As part of the initiative, students created heartfelt Valentine’s Day cards to honor and thank local veterans for their service and sacrifice. Through their thoughtful messages and colorful designs, students expressed gratitude while learning the importance of community involvement and civic responsibility.

The school was honored to welcome Town Clerk Kate Murray and Councilman Muscarella, who personally visited to collect the cards and speak with students about the impact of their kindness. Their visit provided a meaningful opportunity for students to connect with local leaders and better understand how small acts of appreciation can make a big difference.
