The Student Council at George Washington School in West Hempstead collected a total of 766 pairs of socks to be donated to local shelters for their Socktober event.
George Washington also recognized Jamie Rizzo, a sixth grader in Mrs. Mottola's homeroom who raised $145 on her own in which she used this money to buy 250 pairs of socks. The West Hempstead School District commends George Washington’s Student Council on their successful Socktober campaign.
