Professional software engineer Yousuf Haque Speaking

Professional software engineer Yousuf Haque met with Ms. Longo’s sixth grade class at George Washington School in West Hempstead on Jan. 26. 

Mr. Haque has developed software professionally for the past nine years. He attended Great Neck South High School where he was a student of Dr. Jennie Yi, the West Hempstead School District’s director of humanities. Mr. Haque went on to study computer science at Stony Brook University and graduated with departmental honors and a specialization in human computer interaction. 

Students met with Mr. Haque in the school’s library where he discussed his professional journey. After college, he worked with CA Technologies and Restaurant Brands International for two years each before his career at Meta Platforms. There, he worked for four years on mobile infrastructure that served billions of people a day. For the past year, Mr. Haque has been working at Tribute Labs where he builds tools for digital coordination. 

“He likes being a jack of all trades, and has bounced around mobile, cloud, web and blockchain engineering,” Dr. Yi said. “Yousuf loves building things that help people express and share themselves with the world.”  

Following his presentation, Mr. Haque held a Q&A session with George Washington’s aspiring coders.
