Smiles, laughter and plenty of school spirit filled the air on June 10 as kindergarten students at Chestnut Street School in West Hempstead celebrated the school's annual Field Day.
Led by Principal Dr. Lisa Minicozzi, who enthusiastically cheered on students at every station, the event provided young learners with an exciting day of outdoor fun, teamwork and friendly competition. Throughout the day, classes rotated through a variety of activity stations designed to keep students active and engaged. Kindergartners tested their agility on an obstacle course, hopped their way through bouncy hopper ball races and raced to the finish line in spirited potato sack competitions. Students also gathered around a colorful parachute, working together to create waves and lift the vibrant canopy high into the air. Additional games and activities gave students plenty of opportunities to stay moving while enjoying time with their classmates.
The annual tradition encourages physical activity, cooperation and school pride while creating lasting memories for students. With sunny skies and energetic participants, Field Day was a memorable highlight of the school year for Chestnut Street's youngest learners.
