Kindergartners enjoyed an interactive storybook adventure with a StoryWalk during National Library Week

Kindergartners at Chestnut Street School in West Hempstead enjoyed an interactive storybook adventure with a StoryWalk during National Library Week.

In conjunction with the West Hempstead Public Library, a StoryWalk is a book that has been taken apart, laminated and presented page by page on a trail, bike path or any outside community space to promote reading and exercise. Teachers read the pages of each book and followed the instructions as they hopped, skipped and jumped to each page.

Created by Anne Ferguson, of Montpelier, Vermont, StoryWalk is an innovative way for children and adults to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.
