West Hempstead’s R.A.M.s, a team of student coders at West Hempstead Middle School, took part in the middle school junior division kidOYO hackathon on March 11.
A hackathon is a timed event in which teams compete against one another in coding challenges. This year’s competition was an Aztec Conquest in which teams had to gain control of virtual territories by completing coding challenges.
