The Krazy Koppings’ are trying to solve problems that are occurring in their 13 states, but they are realizing that not much can get done! What solution did they come up with? Ms. Kopping’s 5th grade science classes are using their knowledge as “water resource engineers” to create models that explain what is going on at the nanoscale when condensation is occurring. Using digital models helps us to illustrate our learning and to be able to share with others.

Students in Ms. Fellows' 4th grade are finishing their science unit on vision and light by building vision models. Students are building models of an eye with either high-sensitivity or low-sensitivity light receptors to demonstrate their understanding of how different animals see better during the day or during the night. @whufsdrams #RamCulture

GW court is in session!! Mrs. Mottola and Ms. Longo’s SS classes entered the GW court today! Judges ruled in the favor of “King Tut died of natural causes!” A job well done to all Ss for researching and debating while applying the habits of mind! 👏 @WhufsdRams

Things are heating up in Ms. Kopping’s Social Studies Class!! The students spent two days researching and collaborating so that they could debate whether the Salem Witch Trials were fair or unfair. They did so well using Accountable Talk moves to present counterarguments and rebuttals to further the conversation.

We are celebrating all we have learned in our second unit of science, Modeling Matter, with a salad dressing tasting party! These 5th graders have worked extremely hard as “food scientists” to find ingredients that have the properties necessary to produce a salad dressing with the ideal properties; great flavor, no sediments, and a nice texture. We spent a lot of time down at the ‘nanoscale’ to do this! Great work food scientists!
