Things are heating up in Ms. Kopping’s Social Studies Class!! The students spent two days researching and collaborating so that they could debate whether the Salem Witch Trials were fair or unfair. They did so well using Accountable Talk moves to present counterarguments and rebuttals to further the conversation.

We are celebrating all we have learned in our second unit of science, Modeling Matter, with a salad dressing tasting party! These 5th graders have worked extremely hard as “food scientists” to find ingredients that have the properties necessary to produce a salad dressing with the ideal properties; great flavor, no sediments, and a nice texture. We spent a lot of time down at the ‘nanoscale’ to do this! Great work food scientists!
