West Hempstead Secondary School’s Virtual Enterprise students enjoyed plenty of success in Quarters 1 and 2.

Both VE firms, “A Helping Hand” and “At Your Service” advanced to the championship round of the annual Business Plan Competition; both firms have achieved Gold status for Quarter 1 and Quarter 2 Circles of Excellence; “A Helping Hand” finished in the top 10% of the Branding Competition earning five stars; and “A Helping Hand” earned Gold in both the Newsletter Competition and the Long Island Trade Show. Additionally, the school’s junior VE firm, “A Chef's Palette,” earned honorable mention in the Branding Competition with four stars.

The VE program at the secondary school is offered in conjunction with Virtual Enterprises International. VEI works with schools and districts to implement a year-long, credited class that provides students with an authentic, collaborative business and entrepreneurship experience through its live global business simulation model.

The West Hemsptead School District commends our young entrepreneurs and all their hard work, and the district is hopeful for more notable mentions as they move into the spring trade show and competition season.
