The West Hempstead ENL Department brought plenty of holiday cheer to West Hempstead Secondary School on Nov. 27 as it hosted its annual Thanksgiving luncheon.
Held at the secondary school’s north gymnasium, students gathered to celebrate the season together and enjoy a warm, welcoming meal. The annual luncheon gives ENL students a chance to experience beloved U.S. holiday traditions, and staff went all-out preparing a delicious spread of Thanksgiving favorites such as turkey, fried chicken, pasta, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, potatoes, and plenty of pies. Staff members served the meal with smiles while students chatted, laughed, and enjoyed each other’s company.
Adding to the spirit of the day, students and staff also shared what they’re thankful for this year, making the celebration both festive and heartfelt.
