Future medical leaders inspire young learners at George Washington

On Feb. 11, students at George Washington School in West Hempstead had the unique opportunity to learn from the “pros-in-training” when the Next Gen Med crew from West Hempstead Secondary School visited for a day of interactive learning.

The visiting students, members of the secondary school’s Next Gen Med program, led engaging, hands-on lessons designed to introduce younger students to the exciting world of medicine and healthcare. Through interactive demonstrations and age-appropriate activities, elementary students explored basic health concepts while gaining insight into future career possibilities in the medical field.

The experience not only sparked curiosity but also inspired many young learners to begin thinking about their own futures. Seeing older students confidently share their knowledge made a lasting impression and showed that big dreams can start at any age. The secondary school’s visit was both educational and inspiring, leaving students excited about learning and the possibilities that lie ahead.
