Two of West Hempstead’s Mock Trial teams earn courtroom victories

The West Hempstead School District is proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement by students from George Washington School and West Hempstead Secondary School, whose Mock Trial teams both earned victories on May 7 while competing in the Nassau County Supreme Court’s Future Advocates Mock Trial Program.

The competition gave students the unique opportunity to present cases before real judges in an authentic courtroom setting. Serving as attorneys and witnesses, students demonstrated critical thinking, public speaking, collaboration, and professionalism throughout the experience. District leaders praised the students for the way they represented the West Hempstead community both inside and outside the courtroom. In addition to their success in competition, students displayed confidence, poise, and respect while building new friendships and applying the district’s Habits of Mind in a real-world setting.

The district also recognized the dedication of the coaches, advisors, and families whose guidance and support helped prepare students for the competition. West Hempstead commends all of the student participants for their hard work, commitment, and exceptional representation of the school community.
