Students, district leaders and staff members gathered at the library for a ribbon-cutting ceremony

The West Hempstead School District was proud to unveil West Hempstead High School’s new library media center on Feb. 11. Students, district leaders and staff members gathered at the library for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the library’s transformation.

“West Hempstead genuinely believes that learning is a collaborative effort,” said high school Principal Joe Pumo. “Thanks to the board of education and the entire West Hempstead community, we have been able to create the state-of-the-art and cooperative workspace our wonderful student body deserves. We look forward to what our students will create as they utilize this modern facility.”

The library media center provides students with an assortment of hardcover and paperback novels, online publications and databases, as well as the available technology to create and share ideas with their fellow classmates.
