The West Hempstead School District is proud to announce that the New York State Public High School Athletic Association recognized West Hempstead High School with the School of Excellence Award for the 2021-2022 school year.
West Hempstead High School is among 148 schools across the state to earn this honor. To earn the School of Excellence Award, 75% of a school’s varsity teams must qualify and receive the Scholar-Athlete team award. The purpose of the School of Excellence Award is to unite varsity coaches in challenging their teams to achieve a statewide academic honor. The School of Excellence winners will be awarded a plaque at the district’s local athletic director workshop.
