Congrats to Joseph Tudisco and Raynard Miot on earning Letters of Commendation for their scores on last year’s PSATs.

Congratulations to the girls varsity soccer team. Tonight the team defeated Oyster Bay High School by the score of 4-1. Goals were scored by the following students: Madison AbiAoun scored two goals, Catherine Andree scored one goal, and Gianna Cardillo scored a goal.
The goals were the direct result of the hard work and determination by all the RAMS. It was a great team win.

As you are aware, there has been a terrible fire on Woodfield and Eagle. Everyone is safe. Some of our students have been affected. We are starting a collection of gift cards and cash. All cash will be converted to gift cards. Students have relocated to various homes and its best if we support them in this fashion. If you want to donate, you can see any building principal or district office administrator. Thank you.

Congratulations to the boys varsity volleyball team. The team defeated Valley Stream Central three sets to zero. Dominic Cavallo led the RAMS with 8 aces and 18 digs. Nicholas Trina had 24 assists and 3 aces. It was a great team effort.

It’s great to see our students volunteering their time and giving back to the community. Job well done, Michael!

Good morning,
I would like to recognize and thank all our student athletes who are participating in the fall season.
Athletics teaches students valuable skills and life lessons, including: teamwork, leadership, accountability, time management, personal and social responsibility, goal setting, etc.
To be a part of the athletic program is a privilege. Student athletes are held to a certain standard. Section VIII, the governing body for inter-scholastic athletics, has a code of conduct for our student athletes, supplemented by our school district’s various codes of conduct.
To quote Section VIII, athletics “Recognize[s] and value[s] the experiences individuals from diverse backgrounds bring to education based interscholastic athletics on Long Island.” Section VIII athletics is committed to “bring equity and inclusivity to all student athletes” in athletic programs.
Section VIII athletics has a zero tolerance policy regarding harmful actions taken by adults in and around Long Island sporting events.
Any incident by a student athlete that is determined to go against the Team Up for Unity mission statement (“…sports free from racism and all forms of negative bias.”), will result in a one contest ban in addition to any other penalties set forth by the Sportsmanship committee and the Section VIII bylaws.
Any player ejected from a contest will receive a one game suspension. A second occurrence in the same sport will result in a two game suspension. A third occurrence will result in the loss of the season.
Section VIII athletics and West Hempstead code of conduct ensure a safe a welcoming environment for all our student athletes.

Hello,
The winter season for high school athletics begins on November 15th.
Before all else, I would like to take this time to acknowledge and recognize Mr. Cosgrove for all of his decades of dedication to the boys varsity basketball program. Mr. Cosgrove retired in June and myself and the entire athletics department wish him a happy retirement.
Additionally, Mr. Senia will no longer be coaching the boys junior varsity basketball team but will still be part of the athletic program. Mr. Senia will be coaching middle school basketball.
The West Hempstead Athletics Department would like to give a warm welcome the two new boys basketball coaches: Mr. Joseph Thomas, who will lead the boys varsity basketball team, and Ms. Nicole Christenson, who will lead the boys junior varsity basketball team.
In the next two weeks the coaches will introduce themselves to the students who are interested in trying out for boys basketball and begin setting up dates for intramurals.
Please welcome our two new boys basketball coaches and let’s work together to make this coming season fun, safe, and memorable for all those involved.

Congratulations to Kevin DeCristoforo, a senior on the boys varsity soccer team has been named by NewsDay as one of the top one hundred players in Nassau County.

Please join us for Back to School Night on September 23rd at 7 PM. Please note, we will only be able to invite 1 parent/guardian per family that evening and students are not permitted due to safety precautions. Looking forward to an informative evening.

On Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 at 7:30pm, the West Hempstead Athletics Department will be hosting speaker Mark Leinweaver of Perfect Playcement. Mr. Leinweaver will speak about participating at the collegiate level
