The West Hempstead Athletics Department is excited to announce that tomorrow at 5:00pm West Hempstead will be hosting the inaugural game for our Girls’ Flag Football team. Please come and show your support for our girls as they take on Plainview Old Bethpage High School. Everyone involved will be a part of something momentous for our high school and our district. Congratulations to the girls’ varsity softball team. The varsity softball team improved its league record to 5-0 with a 19-5 victory over Great Neck South yesterday. Joey Axel went 5 for 5 with a home run, 2 doubles, 6 RBIs and 5 runs scored and Ashlee Boodoo went 5 for 5 with a home run, a double and 4 runs scored. Pitcher Jennie Axel scattered 9 hits while striking out 10. The team’s next game is Wednesday, April 20 at Hewlett, game time is 10am.

Our 11th grade peer mentors met with their 8th grade mentees. The conversations were great as they discussed the impacts of their daily decisions.

Congratulations to the boys varsity tennis team. Yesterday, the team defeated Lawrence High School and improved its record to 4-0. Aden Palmer, Ian Williams, Andrew Schreck won in singles. Michael Canzoneri, Andrew Cobos, Eduardo Leon, Mahib Rahman, Stephen Schreck, Robert Festa, Dylan Ramsahai and Brady Haberstroh won in doubles.
On Saturday, the RAMS Track & Field team competed at the Nassau Coaches Invitational. There were 70 other teams there, making this one of the biggest track meets in recent Nassau County history. Exceptional performances were had by:
Damilola Babalola, who took 1st place overall in the 110m High Hurdles.
Gloria Guerrier, who took 2nd place overall in the 400m Hurdles
Victoria Guerrier, who took 2nd place overall in the 400m dash and 4th overall in the 800m dash.

Congratulations to the boys’ varsity tennis team. The boys’ varsity tennis team improved its record to 3-0 by defeating Uniondale High School on Friday. Aden Palmer, Ian Williams and Andrew Schreck won in singles. Michael Canzoneri and Andrew Cobos won in doubles.

Congratulations to the varsity softball team. The team remains undefeated with a 4-0 record with an extra inning come from behind 15-14 victory over Carle Place on Friday. Ashlee Boodoo led off the 8th inning with a single, stole second, stole third and scored the winning run on a throwing error by the catcher. Joey Axel hit for the cycle, with 3 runs scored and 4 RBIs. It was a great team win. The team will host Great Neck South on Tuesday, game time is 5:00pm. Come support the RAMS!!!

Class Nite 2022. What a great turn out. Who will emerge victorious?!?




The students in the Music Tech/Song Writing class are providing the music for tonight’s Class Nite. Come on down at 7:30 PM. All are welcome.


Class Nite will start at 7:30 PM tomorrow night, which is a half hour later than originally advertised. Tickets can still be purchased at the door.

The girls track & field team continued their season with their second league meet on Monday. Exceptional performances were had by:
Gloria Guerrier broke her own school record and took 1st place in the 400 meter hurdles. Gloria also took 2nd place in the 400 meter dash.
Victoria Guerrier who took 1st place in the 400m and the 200 meter dash.
Brooke Friedman who took 1st place in both the shotput and the discus.
Natasha Dominguez who took 2nd place in the 1500m
Christiana Dalmadge who took 3rd in the 100m hurdles
Chance Mingo who took 2nd in the High Jump
And the 4x400m relay team consisting of Natasha Dominguez, Gloria Guerrier, Madison AbiAoun, and Victoria Guerrier took 1st place and continue their undefeated streak.

Congratulations to the Boys Track & Field team on their win yesterday against Friends Academy, Island Trees, and Academy Charter. With this win the boys improved their record to 5-1. Events winners included Jordan DeJesus in the 100 and 200, Damilola Babalola in the 110 hurdles, Jurrel Hall in the high jump and long jump, Joe Tudisco in the 400 intermediate hurdles, and Giuseppe D´Agosto in the discus. Finally, the 4 by 100 relay of Jordan DeJesus, Corey Pierre, Kamau Leslie, and Damilola Babalola took first and remain undefeated in this event. Great job Rams!

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team on their win against Malverne/East Rockaway with a score of 18-9.
Gianna Cardillo had 10 goals and 2 assists. Ivana Jimenez had 4 goals and 3 assists and Elizabeth Poiret had 4 goals and 3 assists. Mackenzie Cates had 2 assists, and Glenda Garcia had 14 saves in goal!! A great team effort by all.

Joey Axel went 4 for 4 with a 3 run home run, a grand slam, 8 RBIs, and 5 runs scored. Pitcher Isabella Torres threw a 1 hitter with 9 strikeouts. The team will host Carle Place on Friday, game time is 5 pm.

Our peer leaders for the Sources of Strength started their trusted adult campaign today during lunch periods. The students identified one adult in their lives they trust to go to in a time of need.


The boys' varsity lacrosse team won their 2nd game in a row. The team defeated Sewhanaka High School by a score of 9-3. Gavin Lee led the Rams with 6 goals and 2 assists. Jourdan Mitchell , Michael AbiAoun, and Stevie Coppola played excellent defense holding the Sewhanaka offense to only 10 shots all game.
The Fashion Show was outstanding this evening. Thank you to the PTSA, staff, and students for for putting together a great show.
