The West Hempstead Union Free School District is proud to announce two exceptional additions to our administrative team ahead of the 2026–2027 school year.
Patricia Scollo, Principal, Cornwell Avenue School
Mrs. Scollo steps into her new role after serving WHUFSD for several years as Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services, an experience that gave her the opportunity to work with students, families, teachers, and administrators across every school in the district. She spent this past June working closely with the Cornwell community and is eager to build on the school's strong foundation.
Families are invited to meet Mrs. Scollo in person at a Principal Meet and Greet held every Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. throughout the summer. No appointment is necessary.
Jessica Mora Rivera, Principal, George Washington School
Ms. Mora Rivera will officially join the district on August 3, 2026. She brings a deep commitment to student-centered leadership, sharing in a letter to the community that every child deserves to be known, every family deserves to feel welcomed, and every staff member deserves to feel valued and supported. She looks forward to building trust and partnership with students, families, and staff through an active, visible presence throughout the building.
