Yesterday, three scholars from our Teacher Residency Program (TRP) joined Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Ms. Dina Reilly and longtime educator Ms. Barbara Silkes for an open, engaging discussion about what it means to prepare students for success — both inside and outside the classroom.
The group explored the district’s Portrait of a Graduate and the key pillars that help shape well-rounded students. There were plenty of thoughtful questions, great ideas, and, as the photos show, a few smiles along the way! 😄
Here’s to conversations that inspire the educators of today — and tomorrow. 🍎✨
Last night's "RamFam: Our Story, Unplugged" community event brought together families, students, staff, and neighbors for an evening of connection and shared pride in our district. Thank you to everyone who joined us; your presence made the night what it was.
We also want to recognize the partners who helped make this event possible. Thank you to Pioneer Sports and J. Cole for their generous support and collaboration in bringing "Our Story, Unplugged" to the West Hempstead community. Hat tip to Ms. White and the admin team for their time and efforts.

WHUFSD is pleased to continue our partnership with the Barry & Florence Friedberg JCC to offer Before and After Care for the 2026–27 school year.
Who can attend: Students entering Pre-K through 6th grade who attend Chestnut Street, Cornwell Avenue, or George Washington Intermediate School. George Washington students will be bussed to and from Cornwell Avenue for care.
Program includes: Homework help, arts & crafts, games and puzzles, sports and more, plus daily nut-free snacks.
Monthly rates range from $95/month (1 day, AM only) up to $610/month (5 days, AM & PM). A full rate chart is available in the attached flyer.
Registration: $65 annual fee per child. Sibling discounts available (20% for a second child, 10% for each additional child).

Students at Chestnut Street spent part of their RamPathways summer making memories with our wonderful friends from Crossroads Farm at Grossmann's! From planting and growing with their own green thumbs 🌿 to journaling their discoveries in the shade ✏️🌳 and learning how to make refreshing, freshly squeezed lemonade 🍋, every activity was filled with curiosity, creativity, and smiles.
Here's a look back at some of the fun, learning, and sunshine that made this summer so sweet!
