My name is Matt Ritter, from the graduating class of 1993. During my time at WHHS, I was president of the National Honor Society, and a proud member of the Stage Band, under the direction of Mark Brenner. After graduating from WHHS, I studied English at Hunter College, City University of New York, and then received my Masters in English Education from Teachers College Columbia University. I taught high school English in NYC and then became Assistant Principal, and later the founding Principal of Hillside Arts and Letters Academy, a New York City Public School that proudly serves young people from one of the most diverse communities in the world, Jamaica Queens. I am currently an Assistant Superintendent at Uniondale School District. I am still grateful for all 12 years of my experiences as a student of West Hempstead UFSD! Ram Pride!

The ENL Department hosted its annual Thanksgiving luncheon in the north gym at @wh_secondary! There were plenty of traditional Thanksgiving dishes for students and staff members to enjoy such as turkey, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and pies! #WHe
