Dear West Hempstead School Community,
At yesterday evening's Board of Education meeting, the Board accepted Faith Tripp's resignation as Chestnut Street School's principal. We thank Ms. Tripp for her years of service to our district's students. I know you will join me in wishing Ms. Tripp well in her new endeavor.
The Board of Education has appointed Dr. Lisa Minicozzi as an interim principal, who will begin with the district tomorrow. She is a former K-12 school teacher and K-5 principal. Dr. Minicozzi joins our district with a wealth of educational experience and has served in various roles throughout her career. Most recently, she has served as the Clinical Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education and Program Director for Educational Leadership in the College of Education & Health Studies at Adelphi University.
We welcome Dr. Minicozzi to our great district and look forward to the contributions she will add to our RamCulture!

This past Wednesday, the band and cheerleading were invited to Hofstra to demonstrate their excellence and raise funds for their respective programs. They both made wonderful impressions. So much so that the band has been asked to return to Hofstra next Thursday to play with the Hofstra band in a nationally televised game! This is just another shining example of our #RamCulture and #RamPride.
