Starting this school year, we're implementing Governor Hochul's Bell-to-Bell Cell Phone Ban to create a more focused learning environment for our students.
🎯 What This Means:
Week 1: Staff will collect phones/smartwatches at main entrance (returned at dismissal)
After Week 1: Students store phones in lockers ALL DAY (including lunch & passing periods)
Research shows this reduces distractions and improves focus & collaboration
📋 Progressive Consequences for Visible Phones: 1st offense: Phone confiscated + warning 2nd offense: Parent pickup required + detention
3rd offense: Parent pickup required + in-school suspension 4th offense: Daily office check-in/out for remainder of year
💬 Need to reach your child? Call our Main Office at 516-390-3214
We're committed to helping students develop positive decision-making skills and strengthen their focus on learning. Thank you for supporting this policy at home by reminding your child to secure their phone in their locker each morning.
Together, we're creating an environment where students can thrive! 🌟
